Community Guidelines

GLØW is a squad-based social status competition game designed to be played with friends for fun. We built GLØW specifically to challenge the norm of social apps that allow harassment, fuel ego-driven comparison, or put individuals down based on appearance. Our design choices reflect this: no comments, no likes, no direct messages, squad-level scoring rather than individual ranking, and category scores that users cannot see individually. Every decision we make is designed to keep competition fun and social pressure low.

If you would not be comfortable with GLØW's team seeing what you are doing, do not do it.

Harassment and bullying. Any behaviour designed to intimidate, demean, or cause distress to another user is grounds for immediate permanent ban. This includes coordinated voting to target specific users.

Nudity and sexual content. Swimwear and gym content is permitted as lifestyle content. Explicit nudity, sexually suggestive content, and underwear styled sexually is not permitted and will be removed automatically by our content moderation system.

Impersonation. Uploading photos of another person without their consent, pretending to be someone you are not, or creating accounts in someone else's name is strictly prohibited.

Fake accounts and manipulation. Creating multiple accounts, using bots or automated tools, or coordinating with others to manipulate voting or scores undermines the platform for everyone and will result in permanent bans.

Hate speech. Content or behaviour targeting any person or group based on race, ethnicity, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability, or any other protected characteristic is not permitted.

Illegal content. Content that is illegal in England and Wales or in the user's country of residence is strictly prohibited.

Real photos of yourself across your four categories which are Facecard, Style, Vibe, and Travel. Gym content and swimwear at appropriate settings. Competitive squad play. Following other users and unlocking social handles through mutual consent.

No comments. We deliberately removed comments to prevent harassment and pile-ons that are common on other platforms.

No direct messages. GLØW has a no direct communication policy. If you connect with someone through the social unlock feature any communication happens on the platform of your choice, not within GLØW.

No individual scores shown. You see your squad's category results, not your individual score. This deliberately reduces personal social pressure.

Social handle protection. Your Instagram, TikTok, Snapchat, and Discord handles are never visible to anyone unless you choose to enable social handle visibility AND both parties have mutually followed each other within GLØW. You can disable this at any time.

Squad-level competition. You compete as a team not as an individual. Winning and losing happens at squad level which shares the emotional weight across the group.

If you see content or behaviour that violates these guidelines please use the report button on any profile or photo. Reports go directly to our moderation team and are reviewed promptly. You can also email safety@glowsquad.app for urgent concerns.

Repeat violations result in permanent account termination and email blocking from the platform.
