Privacy Policy

When you create an account we collect your name, email address, date of birth, city, country, and username. When you use the app we collect photos you voluntarily upload across your profile categories, your squad memberships and competition history, scores and momentum data generated through rounds, device information and IP address for security purposes, and push notification subscription data if you opt in.

If you choose to connect social handles we store only the username strings you provide across Instagram, TikTok, Snapchat, and Discord. We do not access, authenticate, or retrieve any data from those platforms.

GLØW uses the following third party services to operate:

Cloudinary for secure image storage and delivery. Images you upload are stored on Cloudinary's servers.

Google Cloud Vision for automated content moderation. Uploaded images are sent to Google's SafeSearch API to detect and reject content that violates our guidelines. Images are not retained by Google for this purpose.

Resend for transactional emails including email verification and two-factor authentication codes.

Google Analytics (GA4) for anonymised usage analytics to understand how users interact with the app. GA4 data is anonymised and does not identify individual users. You can opt out of analytics tracking in your device or browser settings.

Stripe for processing subscription payments and coin purchases. GLØW does not store your payment card details. All payment data is handled securely by Stripe in accordance with PCI DSS standards.

Railway as our backend infrastructure provider where your account data and scores are stored securely.

We use your data to operate your account and provide the GLØW service, to match your squad against eligible opponents, to calculate scores and leaderboard positions, to send you push notifications about rounds and results if you have opted in, to verify your identity and age, to moderate uploaded content for safety, and to send transactional emails such as verification codes.

We do not sell your data to third parties. We do not use your data for advertising targeting. We do not share your data with any third party except the service providers listed above who are necessary to operate the platform.

Photos you upload to GLØW are used solely within the platform for the purpose of squad-based competition voting. Your photos are displayed to other users within active rounds and on your squad profile. GLØW uses automated content moderation to screen uploaded photos but is not responsible for the content users choose to upload. Users are solely responsible for ensuring they have the right to use any image they upload and that images comply with our community guidelines.

GLØW is not responsible for any consequences arising from a user uploading images of another person without consent. If you believe an image of you has been uploaded without your permission please contact us immediately at safety@glowsquad.app and we will remove it promptly.

Instagram, TikTok, Snapchat, and Discord usernames you add to your profile are stored as plain text and are only revealed to other users when both parties have mutually followed each other within GLØW and both have enabled social handle visibility in their settings. You can hide your social handles at any time from Settings then Visibility then Show my social handles. Once hidden your handles are not visible to any other user including those you have previously connected with.

You have the right to access the data we hold about you, to correct inaccurate data, to request deletion of your account and associated data, to withdraw consent for optional data processing such as push notifications and analytics, and to data portability. To exercise any of these rights contact us at privacy@glowsquad.app or use the My Data section in your app settings.

We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account we delete your personal data within 30 days. Anonymised competition data such as round results without personal identifiers may be retained for platform analytics. Uploaded photos are deleted from our storage within 7 days of account deletion.

GLØW is designed for users aged 13 and over, consistent with the minimum age policy of major social platforms including Instagram. Users under 13 are not permitted to use GLØW. We collect date of birth during signup to enforce this. Upcoming updates will introduce additional age verification including facial recognition scanning to strengthen our age checks.

GLØW reserves the right to update this privacy policy at any time. We will notify you of significant changes via email or in-app notification. Continued use of GLØW after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
